Knocking Hoe

A few photos from the superb Knocking Hoe reserve in Bedfordshire which we visited back in August.

Clustered Bellflower - Campanula glomerata

The plant we especially wanted to see was the very rare Moon Carrot, seen here growing in profusion.

Moon Carrot - Seseli libanotis

Wild Candytuft Iberis amara
This wasn't actually on the reserve but in an arable field adjacent to it.
The seed pods are almost as pretty as the flowers.

It was late in the afternoon during our visit and butterflies were going to roost including these Chalkhill Blues.
