Verdigris Navel First Record for Dorset

Verdigris Navel - Arrhenia chlorocyanea is a very rare fungus and a Red Data Book species. There are only thirteen records for it in the UK. We found these on the dunes at Studland last week (14 in total) I reported them to the Dorset Fungus Group who confirmed the ID and also confirmed that it was the first record for Dorset. I've seen photos of this fungus from Dorset on the internet but they appear not to have been recorded. Well they have now! :-)

Heartiest congrats Karen,a county first and your name forever in the record books. Surely, some very well deserved acclamation is called for in recognition of your diligence in providing us all with such a top ranking blog. Well, it's top of my blog list and the first one read every day.
