Pied Flycatcher

The first patch Pied Flycatcher this year was in the Beer Cemetery Fields at lunchtime today. I went over there for a look even though it was 'only a female'. I always tend to think that, but in hindsight it always seems a little harsh because the females are just so lovely!  I can't look at one without smiling. I managed a few photos of her before some stormy weather arrived from the east. The bird continued fly-catching even in the ensuing downpour unlike the hardy patch birders who huddled under a tree until a break in the rain  allowed them to disperse.

 The epitome of cuteness!
