A visit to Hartland Moor in the Purbeck area of Dorset, on a sunny day in July never disappoints. There's just so much to see if you like invertebrates. I've seen most of the following species before but that doesn't mean I enjoy seeing them any less.

Cliff Mining Bee - Andrena thoracica

Purbeck Mason Wasp - Pseudepipona herrichii
Ornate Tailed Digger Wasp - Cerceris rybyensis
Bee Wolf - Philanthus triangulum
Sheildbug Stalker - Astata boops
Common Spiny Digger Wasp - Oxybelus uniglumis
Sand Wasp - Ammophila sp.
Red-legged Spider Wasp - Episyron rufipes
FLIES
Mottled Bee-fly - Thyridanthrax fenestratus
Heath Bee-fly - Bombylius minor
And last but most definitely not least...
Silver-studded Blue - Plebejus argus
